Letter from the Principal

Dear Frank Love Families,

This first week of December has been an adventure! We saw our first snow of the year and had our first snow day. Students shared exciting stories about fun activities they did in the snow. Through big smiles we heard stories about snowballs, snow angels and cold, wet hands and feet.  As much as they can be an interruption in our schedules, snow days often provide an opportunity for us to slow down and have some unplanned fun.

You may remember this month at Frank Love we are focusing on empowerment as a school wide value. Teaching empowerment to our students helps them advocate for themselves and others, and set and meet goals. As we move into the final two weeks of school for 2022 we will help students stay focused on their goals to finish the year strong.

Have a wonderful weekend.

In Partnership,

Katy French and Sara Davis

Change of Clothes

Going into the wet season we want to remind parents to send their students with an extra pair of clothes in their backpack. Our health room has limited items available in the event of an emergency. We are unable to hand out a change of clothes for choices made during recess.

Parking Changes

At Frank Love we reserve parking during drop off and pick up for our students who have FSA level supports. These spots are referred to as 'Cheetah Pass' parking. We have recently made changes to these to better accommodate the needs of our families and students who have FSA levels of support.

See the Map below for details.

Drop Off and Pick Up Parking Spaces

Handicap Only Spots:  We will now have 2 spots designated for those students who have wheelchair access needs.  Please only park in these spots if you have a child using a wheelchair.

Cheetah Pass Spots (See map for reference)

  • 3 handicap spaces in front of the school will remain available for families who have the Cheetah Pass.

  • We will relocate 1 of the 2 spots on the east side of the parking lot and add 3 more spots directly across from the front entrance of the school.

We will be working on getting some permanent signage and painted "walk/caution" areas.  Please be sure to use the crosswalk to assist your child across the parking lot.

Health Room News

The Holiday Season is not the only thing in the air these days. It is also the time of year we start to see an uptick in cases of seasonal flu, colds, and RSV, in addition to ongoing COVID-19. How do you tell the difference?  Often, it is very difficult to distinguish between the symptoms of a common cold virus from these illnesses without confirmatory testing.

If you are concerned your student has any of these symptoms, you are encouraged to reach out to your doctor to see if testing is recommended. If you think your child is having trouble breathing, is unresponsive, or is unable to eat or drink, seek immediate medical care.

There are many measures we can take to help protect ourselves for the months ahead. These include getting flu or COVID vaccines, staying home when sick, voluntary masking, or washing hands frequently.
