Last Week of School Release Time

Frank Love PTA

Letter from the Principal

Dear Frank Love Family,

In a blink of an eye… it’s the last week of school! How can this be? During the last staff meeting of the school year, the staff took some time to reflect and call out the joyous moments from this year.. Being with your student, the growth they observed in their social/emotional skills, and supporting each student’s effort to grow their academic skills were among the most mentioned highlights. Thank you for your support and trust in us to educate and nurture our students. Your support means the world to us.

The end of the school year can be a time of transition for some staff and it is bittersweet that Frank Love will be saying goodbye to a few folks this year.

  • Bobbie Davies, our wonderful Kitchen Manager will be moving to Port Angeles to be closer to family.

  • Susan Guptil, first grade teacher, is retiring. We wish her adventure and fun times with family.

We also wish to say goodbye and best wishes to…

  • Our 5th grade students and families who are moving onto the middle school

  • Students and families who will be moving to other schools

It has been an honor and a privilege to spend our days with your student!

Volunteers Needed!!

As we close out the school year we have lots going on at the school and we need volunteers. If you can help out at any of these events we would greatly appreciate it.

Field Day

IT'S BACK!! After a couple year hiatus Field Day is back! Thursday June 16th 1-3 pm.

Field Day is a very fun and entertaining day for our students. We will be opening up the whole school for this event! In order to have this awesome event run smoothly and to make sure that our wonderful students get the best experience on field day we NEED VOLUNTEERS!!!

We need volunteers to help with setting up field day, running stations, and cleaning up after. If you are interested please sign up for one or more positions below. If you can only make it for a time slot that is already filled, just come anyway. We'd love to have you! Any help is very much appreciated by our Frank Love PE teachers Mr. Campbell and Ms. G. who put together this fun filled event. Hope to see you out there! GO CHEETAHS!!

If you have not yet filled out a volunteer application / background check this year please do so now.

Hope to see you out there! GO CHEETAHS!!

5th Grade Picnic

📣The 5th graders are going to Cedar Grove Park for their 5th Grade Party on June 16 for a day of fun before heading back to the school for Field Day!

We are still looking for 4-5 volunteers to chaperone the time at the park with our fantastic 5th grade teachers!  Please email jenn@flepta.org if you are interested in chaperoning. You do not need to be a 5th grade parent to volunteer!

A limited quantity of yearbooks are still available. You can order yours online in touchbase. If you need your login information, please fill this form out:
Please go to touchbase / in-touch
Once logged into your Touchbase account,
  1. Click on your student
  2. You will see “Featured”
  3. Click on the blue box that says $17.50

Message from the School Counselor

Hello Families,

It has been a pleasure working with all of the students this school year. I have been impressed watching the students adapt to the ups and downs of recovering from a pandemic. The children have built skills in resilience that will last them a lifetime.Wishing you all the best over the summer and I am looking forward to seeing all of the Cheetahs in the fall!

SEL at Home: Here are some ideas to continue your student’s social emotional growth over the summer.

Summer Activities to Continue Teaching Social Emotional Learning

  • Read. Create a cozy spot for reading and provide books that focus on social emotional topics and discuss the issues after. See some book ideas here. You can also access books by looking for authors reading their books on youtube.

  • Go on a mindful walk. Ask your child to notice what they sense as you walk around your neighborhood. Taking the time to determine what you see, smell, hear and feel will help ground you in the moment.

  • Garden. Plant some vegetables, flowers or herbs. Teach children how to care for the garden, building their confidence as they watch their garden grow.

  • Journal. Have your child express themselves in writing. You could give them a writing prompt, have them write a creative story, write about a favorite memory, or reflect on current events.

  • Practice yoga. Learn a few yoga poses to help energize in the morning or relax at the end of the day. Check out Cosmic Kids for some fun yoga activities for kids.

  • Watch movies. Relax and watch a movie together. Use it as an opportunity to discuss the social emotional aspects of the movie and talk about how the characters felt and dealt with challenges.

  • Make a scrapbook. Add photos and captions that describe how the child felt about their favorite memories.

  • Create a chore chart. Teach children responsibility and the impact of contributing to their family community.

  • Cook or bake. Practice listening and cooperation as you work together to make a delicious family meal or treat.

  • Do art. Creating art is a great way to get in touch with emotions. Ask your child to draw or paint what they are feeling. Explore different mediums to maximize creativity.

Take care,
