Dear Frank Love Families,
It was a busy and fun week around Frank Love. Springing forward an hour made all of our Cheetahs a little sleepy at the beginning of the week but it didn’t last long. The continuation of the Boosterthon recess events and the day of the walk-a-thon really got everyone excited and jazzed to help raise funds for the PTA to support school events and enrichment activities. To those of you who were able to support, thank you!
Last night our Kindergarten and first grade students performed in their music concerts. For me, there’s nothing better than hearing the voices of students come together to share a message through song. I hope everyone who attended felt uplifted and filled with pride to watch your child sing their hearts out. The joy in the gym was nothing short of inspirational. The concert themes of friendship and spreading kindness and joy were so well shared by the students through their solo speaking parts, the lyrics of the songs and through the enthusiastic choreographed movements and dancing. I want to thank our incredible music teachers, Caryssa Murphy and Caty Barber, for teaching our students and helping them share their goodness and joy into our world.

Kenmore Middle School 5th Grade Parent Night
5th Grade Parent Night: March 21 @ KMS GYM
- 6:30 General Session for All Parents:
- Learn about Kenmore Middle School, get an overview of the registration process, get some questions answered, and meet some KMS staff.
- The night starts in the gym and then there will be breakout sessions.
- Spanish translation services will be available
PRE-SESSION INFORMATION:
- 5:30 Special Education Pre-Session:
- In the LIBRARY–near the main office.
- For parents of students receiving special education services.
- Get a general overview of special education services at KMS, meet a few sped teachers, and get some questions answered.
- 6:00 HiCap Pre-Session:
- In ROOM 204–near the back parking lot.
- For parents of students in the Highly Capable program
- Get a general overview of HiCap services at KMS, meet a few HiCap teachers, and get some questions answered.
Festival of Cultures
Get ready for Frank Love's Festival of Cultures Night!
Theme:
The Me I Want the World to See
The Frank Love Festival of Cultures is an opportunity for students and families to share their unique identities, cultures, and traditions with their Frank Love community. The Festival of Cultures is an all-inclusive family experience. We have made accommodations to make this event inclusive for attendees with sensory sensitivities. Here are just a few of the ways we are making this event sensory-friendly:
- sensory kits are available for checkout (kits contain noise reduction headphones, fidgets, a communication deck, and sanitizer and are first come, first served)
- a separate calming space for breaks will be available
- we are working on an optional opportunity to view the Festival exhibits at the end of the school day/earlier in the evening for those who may benefit from a less sensory-stimulating experience...stay tuned!

There are many ways to participate including:
- set up a booth/table/display to share your individual or family culture, traditions, art, etc.
- perform or demonstrate a skill or talent or game that is significant or connected to your identity or culture
- prepare a food connected to your traditions or culture to share with others
- help with set up or clean up

My First Formal
“Life, what is it but a dream?”

You are invited to Woodinville High School's My First Formal Dance: “Through the LookingGlass: Alice in Wonderland”.
Date: Saturday, March 25, 2023
Time: 6:00-8:00pm
Place: Woodinville High School, 19819 136th Ave NE, Woodinville, WA 98072
The My First Formal dance will feature live music (provided by the WHS jazz band), games, activities, food, and dancing! We will also feature a silent auction, photo booths, face painting and a bouncy house!
Tickets: We recommend pre-registering HERE to save money and guarantee your tickets. All proceeds from the event will support Woodinville High School's Class of 2024 and help subsidize important programming associated with graduation.
Dance Attire: We love to see outfits that are on theme but feel free to dress however! This is a formal dance so feel free to dress up!

Kindergarten Enrollment
2023-24 Kindergarten enrollment is open now!!
Please Note:
To enroll in Kindergarten, a student must be 5 years old by August 31st, 2023. When registering, please have your student’s birth certificate, proof of residency and immunization records.
Supply Drive
Each month for the remainder of the year we will be running a supply drive for popular used items.

Grade Level Music Concerts
Congratulations to Kingergarten and 1st Grade students for such fabulous concerts!
We still have two more concerts coming up next week!

The Department of Health Covid Guidelines Decision Tree
Covid Symptom and Exposure Decision Tree
Even minor illness symptoms may indicate a Covid infection. A covid test is recommended. Regardless of results, students need to stay home until symptoms have greatly improved, and no fever, vomiting, or diarrhea within 24 hours of returning to school, without the use of medication to control those symptoms.

Technology Support
Chromebook OS 108 is available for students. The new OS will install in the background when students shut down, restart, and log into their chromebook. Please have students shut down and log into their chromebooks to begin the update process.
It is important that student devices are brought to school each day. Devices are used throughout the school day as learning resources.
If your student is having issues with their chromebook/ipad or charger, please let me know (jhert@nsd.org).

Hello Cheetah Families!
Community: In March and April we are focusing on the Frank Love value “Community”. As the staff liaison of our FLE PTA, I was able to share a message from one of our special education teachers, Ms. Woods, at our meeting this week. Those in attendance were moved by her important message about community and I wanted to share it with you here as well:
Many of our students who require a high-level of adult support are spending more time in the general education classroom, as well as library, PE, and music, since the return of mid-winter break. This change in routine is going well for many of our students, including those who receive special education services and those who do not. Many classrooms now have buddies in PE, music, and library that they partner with. The buddies do some activities together and help each other out.
Working with peers who have different skills, interests, ways of communicating, and ways of moving is a wonderful opportunity to learn how to be more compassionate, kind, patient, and to make new friends.
A big thank you to families for supporting their children in creating relationships with many different people in our school. The more understanding and accepting we are in our school community, the better off our larger community will be.

Recess Volunteers: We would welcome adult volunteers to help supervise and facilitate fun at recess time. We have recess from 10:00-2:30 and could use help during any time slot. Please contact me to get started!

Frank Love PTA
We officially wrapped up our Boosterthon fundraiser on Wednesday with our main event Walk-A-Thon! What a fun day! From March 6 through the 15th our students enjoyed morning dance parties when they arrived at school, recess dance parties throughout the day and fun music to send them home at the end of the day. We had Ms Hein’s class win a glow in the dark dance party and one student said “it was so fun, I almost cried!”. We had Ms. Sawyer’s 2nd grade class win a glow in the dark dance party and we had Ms. Mossing’s class win “Pie a booster staff in the face!”. It truly was a week of non-stop fun and energy here at Frank Love.
Thanks to your contributions, we were able to raise an astonishing $25,021 which will directly benefit our Student Enrichment Programs, Digital Reader Board, Grants for our school, Art Docent Classes, Family Events, Membership Scholarships, Field Trips, and much more. Your support is a significant contribution that will make a real difference in the lives of our students and staff. 🤗
We are incredibly grateful for your dedication to our Frank Love community and your commitment to providing the best educational experiences for our students. 🌟
