Note from the Principals

Dear Families,

As parents, we have to acknowledge the complexity of friendships right now and understand that they may look drastically different than we would like.  You can read about helping your students with their friendships here:  https://culturesofdignity.com/friendships-in-covid-19/

As we head into the Thanksgiving holiday, it’s a reminder for all of us to stop and reflect on what we are thankful for.  The Frank Love staff are so grateful for the partnership we have with you and for the support you show us each day.  Thank you for working diligently to support your student in logging on for Zoom lessons and for helping them complete their work.  We are also thankful for our students who share positive comments, smiles, and for their continued interest in learning.  The joy that students inherently find in the learning process and in their relationships with their teacher and peers, helps us all push through these challenging times. We wish you and your family all of the best and hope that you can feel the admiration and care we have for each of you.

Sincerely,
Katy French, Principal
Denise Waters, Assistant Principal

Thursdays 11:30-12:00 Fourth grade (NO LUNCH BUNCH THANKSGIVING)
Fridays 11:30-12:00 Fifth grade (NO LUNCH BUNCH THANKSGIVING)
My zoom link was sent in the newsletter email.
We look forward to connecting with the students!

Self-Talk: I have been teaching the students about self-talk during our Cheetah Coalition. This week I am teaching about “Gratitude”. Thinking about what you are grateful or thankful for is a type of self-talk that can positively affect our well-being. People who practice gratitude regularly report physical, psychological, and social benefits. You can cultivate gratitude in your family by talking about what you are grateful for on a regular basis or keeping a “Gratitude Journal”. Find out more about Why Gratitude is Good.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Take care,

Mrs. Weber

Cheetah Spotlight

This week the spotlight is on kindergartener, Clara.

Her teacher writes: Clara and her sister Olivia have been creating their own teaching assignments using Seesaw and posting them for me to solve. They are demonstrating collaboration and creativity! Clara also shows her very best kindergarten work in her Seesaw assignments.  Clara does a fabulous job demonstrating how to play the syllable sorting game (from Lucy Calkins Phonics Units of Study).
