Dear Frank Love Families,
What an awesome 3 days we had with our students! Ms. Davis, our assistant principal, and I witnessed so many examples of students enjoying themselves in the classroom and on the playground. We also saw many examples of classroom teachers making sure that students had time to get to know each other by playing getting to know you games and working on special projects. We saw acts of kindness when our Cheetahs welcomed our 25 new students to Frank Love!
Next week, we welcome our Kindergarteners. We can’t wait to see them and teach them all about how to be a Frank Love Cheetah!
Have a wonderful long weekend!
For safety reasons it’s really important that all our car loop families know the parking lot policies. Please keep your students in the car until 8:55am. Do not have your student exit the vehicle until you are in the designated loading zone and please pull forward as far as possible. Students must enter/exit the vehicles on the right passenger side only. Staff is out to help with loading and unloading before and after school.
If you are sitting in the car loop early please turn your ignition off.
Students are expected to attend all assigned classes each day.
However, we ask that students stay home if they are sick. It is important you contact the office whenever your student will be absent from school.

Hello Frank Love Families!
We want to welcome back all our wonderful families and say hello to our new families that will be joining our Frank Love community! We are looking forward to meeting all our returning and new students as we begin a new school year. We wanted to take a moment to give some friendly reminders for the upcoming year when it comes to your child participating in our physical education program.
The first thing we want to remind everyone about is our dress and shoe policy. We ask that all students dress appropriately on their PE days in order to be able to maximize their participation to the best of their abilities. We suggest that students wear athletic attire that allows them to actively participate in our program. Clothes such as dress slacks/shirts, dresses, skirts, etc. may limit student’s participation in certain activities and could pose a safety hazard in some activities.
We ask that for every PE day that student’s wear athletic shoes. Other shoes such as sandals, crocs, flip flops, heels, boots, etc. are a safety issue for our program and may result in student’s not being able to participate in PE for the day. We suggest that if your child would like to wear non-athletic shoes to school on a PE day that they pack a pair of PE appropriate shoes to bring to school.
If your child is sick or injured on their PE day, we ask that they bring a note from home excusing them from PE that day and/or send us an email.
We look forward to seeing everyone this upcoming school year! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. Have a great start to the year and GO CHEETAHS!
Note from Ms. Barber:
Hello Cheetah Families!
I am so excited to be joining the Frank Love community this year as one of your new music teachers! This year students will be learning music through musical games, singing, and using instruments. I will also be introducing students to music from around the world, so if you know music from another country or culture that you are willing to share, I would love to hear from you! Please feel free to reach out to Ms. Barber (firstname.lastname@example.org) with questions anytime.
Note from Mrs. Murphy:
Hello! I am so stoked to be starting the next chapter of my teaching career at Frank Love! I live about a three minute walk from the school campus, and this is where my boys will be going in a couple of short years. I am so excited to teach and live in the same community. This year, we will explore different musical concepts through singing, playing instruments, musical games, and sharing our own unique perspectives and experiences! Be on the lookout for information about Choir, which will start at the end of September/beginning of October. The choir will be open to all 4th and 5th grade students on Tuesday mornings.
Ms. Wynkoop and Ms. Ellis are both new librarians at Frank Love and we are excited to share with you what happens when your readers visit each week. In addition to frequent updates in the newsletter, you can also follow the Frank Love Library on Instagram @franklovelibrary
Also, mark your calendars! Our Fall Book Fair is scheduled for the week of September 26-30. More information will be coming home with your #cheetahreaders soon!
If you are interested in volunteering in the library, please e-mail Ms. Wynkoop email@example.com.
Happy Reading Cheetahs!
Ms. Wynkoop & Ms. Ellis
Staying Home When Sick
Students with one or more potential COVID symptoms (fever, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, muscle or body aches, new loss of taste or smell, cough, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, sore throat, congestion, or runny nose) are required to stay home and test for COVID-19. Home antigen tests are recommended. Students with one or more symptoms need a negative COVID test AND a significant improvement in symptoms prior to returning to school. You do not need to report negative tests to the school nurse.
Please see the Department of Health’s COVID Symptom and Exposure Flowchart for Schools at the following link for more information about steps to follow for symptoms or exposures:
If you do not have COVID tests at home, please contact the school nurse 425-408-4606 or firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange to pick-up a test kit. Families can order free COVID-19 tests from the state.
If your child has recently tested positive for COVID on ANY test (antigen or PCR), please notify school nurses, Shelly and Susan at email@example.com to report the positive test. Please include the date of the positive test and the date of the onset of symptoms, if present. The school nurse will respond via email with information about the duration of isolation, a return to school plan, and isolation learning support.
If your child is sick with an illness other than COVID, please make sure they do not return to school until symptoms have subsided. Students must be fever-free for 24 hours without fever reducing medication and no vomiting/diarrhea for 24 hours before returning to school.
If you have questions, please contact the school nurse, Thank you for helping to keep Frank Love Elementary healthy and safe.
Bus route information including bus number, pick up and drop off times can be found here. The Frank Love office does not have information regarding bus transport. Please contact the transportation department with questions at 425-408-7900.
