Report an Absence

Students are expected to attend all assigned classes each day. It is important that you call the office whenever your student will be absent from school.

Call 425-408-4610 Submit Online Form

Each day your child is absent, please call the school's 24-hour number 425.408.4610 to let us know the reason for your child's absence.
A note to the teacher must be sent after each absence, stating the nature of the illness or other reason for the absence.

Excused Absences

Doctor or dentist appointments,
Sick child

* More than 13 absences a year are viewed as excessive except for extenuating illnesses with doctor's support.

Request for Excused Absence

If you know your child is going to be absent, please submit this Request for Excused Absence form to the Office.

When arriving at school late, students should first check in at the office before going to their classroom. A note from the parent explaining the reason for being late is, again, appreciated. More than five late arrivals a year is considered excessive except for extenuating circumstances with doctor's support.

Attendance Policy

Regular attendance is essential for success in school; therefore, absences shall be excused only for necessary and important reasons. Valid excuses for absences are outlined in Policy 3122. A Parent/Guardian should notify the school prior to the absence/tardy with a call, note or email that his/her child is unable to attend or will be late to school. The call, note or email must address the date/time and reason for the absence. RCW 28A.225.010 Excused absences shall not be permitted if deemed to cause a serious adverse effect upon the student’s educational progress, unless the student is physically or mentally unable to attend school and the parent has provided documentation of the student’s inability to attend.
